    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treating method for an aluminum material by which the amount of gellike aluminum hydroxide formed is reduced, also the radical of sulfuric acid in the gellike aluminum hydroxide is reduced while the burden of industrial chemicals for waste solution neutralizing treatment is reduced, and its conversion into useful resources can be made easy. SOLUTION: In a surface treating method for an aluminum material having an etching stage and an anodic oxidation stage, an acidic waste solution related to the anodic oxidation stage is subjected to reverse osmosis treatment by ordinary type osmosis units, this sulfuric acid concentrated solution is concentrated by an aluminum concentrating device together with an anodic oxidation aged bath after the recovery of sulfuric acid, the concentrated solution is drawn out to the outside of the system as an acidic solution of aluminum sulfate, on the other hand, osmosed solutions from the both reverse osmosis units are introduced into a waste solution neutralizing stage together with an alkaline waste solution related to the etching stage, neutralizing treatment is executed, and the produced gellike aluminum hydroxide is recovered.

SOLUTION: In a surface treating method for an aluminum material having an etching stage and an anodic oxidation stage, an acidic waste soln. in relation to the anodic oxidation stage is subjected to reverse osmosis treatment, a sulfuric acid concentrated soln. obtd by this reverse osmosis treatment is circulated to the anodic oxidation stage, furthermore, a permeation soln, obtd. by the reverse osmosis treatment is introduced into a waste soln. neutralizing stage together with an alkaline waste soln. in relation to the etching stage, neutralizing treatment and coagulating sedementation treatment are executed, the concentrated part obtd. by the coagulating sedementation treatment is subjected to modifying treatment under the alkaline condition, and, solid-liq. separation is executed to recover gel-shaped aluminum hydroxide low in sulfuric acid radicals.
