    • PURPOSE:To correctly form a flow passage by inserting the first and the second heat-resisting members from the both sides of a valve piece arranged in a casing and fitting pressing members onto the both sides. CONSTITUTION:As for the outer cylinders 34 and 34a made of steel, the outside diameter is the cylindrical first heat-resisting member fitted onto the inside diameter of an outer cylinder 31, and the semicircular cut parts 35 and 35a into which a valve shaft 22 is inserted are formed in the upper part. The second heat-resisting members 36 and 36a in cylindrival from longer than the first heat-resisting members 34 and 34a are fitted onto the inside diameters of the first heat-resisting members 34 and 34a. The first and the second heat-resisting members are divided into two parts from the center to form symmetrical structure, and inserted onto the both sides of the valve piece 2 arranged at the center in the outer cylinder 31, and said valve piece is supported in rotatable ways. The pressing members 43 and 43a in symmetrical structure are fitted onto the outer peripheral part of the both heat-resisting members, and stop metal fittings 46 and 46a are fitted onto the outer peripheral parts of the pressing members, and welded onto the inside wall of the outer cylinder 31, and these members are integrally jointed and fixed.

    • PURPOSE:To adjust adequately the depth of a tap hole and to execute stable tapping and slag discharge operations by providing a blast control valve to a blast branch pipe of a tuyere positioned upper than a tap hole and adjusting the flow rate of hot wind. CONSTITUTION:The blast control valve 7 is provided to a blast branch pipe 6 for supplying hot wind to the tuyere 3 positioned upper than the tap hole 2 of a blast furnace 1. The opening degree of the valve 7 is decreased to decrease the flow rate of the hot wind when the depth of the hole 2 is lower than the prescribed value. Then the flow of the gas near the hole 2 is made inactive by while the slag, etc. sticks to the hole 2 and the depth of the hole 2 is increased. The opening degree of the blast control valve is increased to increase the flow rate of the hot wind when the depth of the port 2 is higher than the prescribed value. Then the flow of the gas near the hole 2 is made more vigorous by which the slag, etc. sticking to the hole 2 are stripped and the depth of the hole 2 is decreased. The level of the molten iron 9 and slag 10 in the hearth 4 is thus made uniform and the tapping operation is continued without clogging the hole 2.
