    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling efficiency of a piercing plug for piercers and elongators and to increase the frequency of services. SOLUTION: Plural jetting holes 3 are perforated on the inner pipe 7 of a cylindrical double vessel 2. Each of the jetting holes 3 is perforated changing its angle so that cooling liquid 10 is jetted vertically to the surface of the plug 1 having the external size of a cannonball shape. On the outer pipe 6, a water pipe 4 for supplying cooling water is provided through the outer pipe from the outside. The cooling water 10 is filled in a space formed with the outer pipe 6, inner pipe 7 and side-wall flange 12. The plug is covered with the double vessel 2, the cooling water 10 is supplied into the space through the water pipe 4 from a cooling-water supplying mechanism, the cooling water 10 is made to collide against the surface of the plug from the jetting holes 3 at the jetting pressure of 0.2 kgf/cm G. Because the angle of each jetting hole 3 is changed, the cooling water is made to collide agaist the surface of the plug 1 approximately vertically, high heat transfer rate is obtained and the cooling efficiency is improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a T-steel whose bends and deformation are minimized and which is excellent in the stability of manufacture by cooling the outside of flange while transporting T-steels on a roller table overlapping the webs vertically after obtaining two T-steels by executing finish rolling of a wide- flange shape steel or an I-steel with a universal mill and simultaneously cutting its web in the longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: After the wide flange shape is cut into T-steels 4a, 4b with a hot saw which is provided on the downstream side of the universal mill group, immediately those T-steels are transported on the roller table 5 while making the position of the H-shaped hold by supporting them in a state where the webs 22 are vertically overlapped with a jig 6 on the roller table 5. During transporting, cooling water is jetted from spray nozzles 7 on the outsides of the flanges 21. In such a case, by adjustion the flow rate of each spray nozzle 7 and intermittently thinning, flange cooling is controlled.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for cooling a wide flange shape, by which the respective cooling of the inside surface of the lower part of a flange and the under surface of a web can be controlled without replacing a cooling device even when each size of flange width, flange height, flange thickness and web thickness of the wide flange shape is changed when cooling the lower part of the inside surface of the wide flange shape. CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with the rear surface cooling device for a wide flange shape, which is composed of one or two header tubes 11a and 11b on which nozzles 13 with variable jetting angles of cooling water are provided, which are installed perpendicular to transfer rollers 8 under the transfer rollers 8 of the wide flange shape 1. By setting the jetting angles of the nozzles 13 so that cooling speed and cooling completion temperature of each part become almost equal corresponding to the flange thickness tf and web thickness tw of the wide flange shape 1, and by adjusting a water quantity to be supplied to the inside surface 6 of the lower part of a flange and the rear surface 3 of a web, a cooling quantity is controlled.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method of a steel plate by which the improvement in the accuracy of water cooling completing temperature and the reduction of the ununiformity of temperature on the sheet are enabled by suppressing local cooling by residual cooling water which remains on the upper surface after completing water cooling when cooling a high-temperature steel plate to the target temperature by using cooling water. SOLUTION: The steel plate 5 which is rough rolled with a roughing mill 2 is moved on a rolling line 1 toward a water-cooling system 4, water-cooling conditions are decided with a water-cooling controller 12 on the basis of temperature before starting water-cooling measured with thermometer 10 and the target cooling temperature or the like and cooling water is jetted toward the steel plate 5 from the water-cooling device 4 according to the water-cooling conditions. After stopping the jet of the cooling water, immediately, air is simultaneously jetted toward the upper surface of the steel plate 5 from the edge side of one side of the steel plate 5 from a dewatering nozzle group and the residual cooling water which remains on the steel plate 5 is removed from the upper surface of the steel plate 5. The temperature of the steel plate after water-cooling is measured with a thermometer 11A and it is confirmed that the water- cooling completing temperature is the target cooling temperature.
