    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a miniaturized and lightened torch whose electrode is shortened and to which a cable and a hose or the like are easily attached by providing a spherical bearing which supports a base end part of the electrode so as to freely execute a circular motion with a circular motion transmitting means and rotating an arc with a precession generating in the electrode. SOLUTION: The rotation of a rotating motor 6 is transmitted to an eccentric shaft 5, and a circular motion of an eccentric quantity (a) is transmitted to a connecting plate 3 via an automatic aligning bearing 4a. Precession is executed with the connecting plate 3 integrally with an electrode 1 using a spherical bearing 2 as a base point. Consequently, since a prescribed circular motion is executed with the tip end of the electrode 1, an arc generating from a welding wire 9 extending from the tip end of the electrode 1 is rotated at a high speed. In such a case, a rotational locus of the arc is completely round, and a shielding gas is fed from a small hole 1a. Since hoses or the like of a cooling water hose 10, a welding wire shielding gas feed hose 11 and a power cable 12 which are attached to the base end part of the electrode 1 are disposed in the outside of a box 100, a torch is miniaturized and lightened.

    • PURPOSE: To efficiently form satisfactory back bead for the starting part of welding and to join welding bead, without using complicated sequence for example, by using ceramics for a backing material and making a groove bottom part thin. CONSTITUTION: A ceramics backing material 6 is arranged in the proximity to the 0 o'clock position which is the starting position for welding of the cross section of fixed tubes 1, 2 arranged so as to butt against each other; and in other parts, a plurality of copper backing strips 7 are arranged. Additionally, a thin groove bottom part 8 is formed at nearly the same position as the ceramics backing material 6. Welding is performed with one welding torch such that clockwise downward welding is first performed from the thin groove bottom part 8 of the 0 o'clock position to the 6 o'clock position and that counter-clockwise downward welding is then performed from the remainder of the thin groove bottom part 8 to the 6 o'clock position. As a result, the formation of the back bead for the groove part 5 of welding and the joining the welding bead are satisfactorily performed, so that a good quality welding bead is obtained.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent generation of welding defect by executing welding of a fixed tube for a first layer, build-up layer, final layer with use of root gap, welding condition values in which data base is established beforehand. CONSTITUTION: A narrow gap 3 is formed at the end part of fixed tubes 1, 2, the root part of gap 3a is made to V shape having θ of 90-150 deg.. A copper backing metal is abutted on the rear face of gap, first layer welding is done with use of the high rotary arc welding method of 20-100Hz arc rotating speed and 1-4mm arc rotating diameter. Welding torch height control and narrow gap copying control are executed by an arc sensor while sensing the arc electric current and voltage waveform. Peripheral downward welding is executed while welding condition is selected from the optimum welding condition database. Build-up welding is executed while welding condition is select from the optimum welding condition database. By weaving welding torch in final layer welding, peripheral downward welding is executed while welding condition is selected from the optimum welding condition database. By this method, the welding having reduced deposited metal quantity is executed in high efficiency.
