    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thin and small electric double layer capacitor in which the element stands high temperature drying during production of the electric double layer capacitor and a produced electric double layer capacitor stands high temperature in a reflow furnace at the time of mounting on a board.
      SOLUTION: In an electric double layer capacitor having a pair of polarizing electrodes isolated by means of a separator, the separator is composed of a non-woven fabric principally comprising polyphenylene sulfide. The separator is made as a sheet by wet paper making method using a material containing polyphenylene sulfide fibers by 40 wt.% or more or made as a sheet by a dry method such that the polyphenylene sulfide fibers are contained by 40 wt.% or more. The separator has a thickness in the range of 20-300 μm and a density in the range of 0.250-0.600 g/cm
