Now, when the condition of any of the various kinds of detecting items goes out of order, the hours display on the changeover dispaly section 16e is switched and the item in question is displayed by means of 5-7 second data stored in the display device 16 according to the degrees of urgency of the data to be displayed. Further, when the conditions of a plurality of items are out of order, such items ae displayed cyclically on the changeover display section 16e by the predetermined lengths of display time, respectively, that is, as 5-7 second data, set for the items.

As a result, status can properly be changed.

    • PURPOSE:To ensure the detection of dirt simply by using light emitting and receiving elements, by detecting the amounts of light rays emitted from the surface of a lamp and the surface from a lens into a space, respectively, and detecting the dirt on the surface of the lens based on the difference in amounts of the light rays. CONSTITUTION:The amounts of light rays, which are emitted from the surface of each short-range lamp and the surface of each lens of head lamps and the like into a space, are detected by first and second light sensors 2 and 3 by way of optical fibers and the like. The results are inputted to a microcomputer 7 through an A/D converter 6. When the difference in the quantities of the light rays becomes a specified value or more, the computer 7 judges the dirt on the surface of the lens, starts a washer driving circuit 10, and makes a buzzer 9 to generate warning for a specified time. When the value of the amount of the light detected by the sensor 3 is less than the specified value, the computer 7 judges the wire breakdown of the short-range lamp and makes a display device 11 to display the breakdown. The same processing is performed for a long-range lamp by light sensors 4 and 5. Thus, the dirt on the surface of the lens is detected simply and positively without using light emitting and receiving elements.

Thereafter, a voice synthesizer circuit 19 creats a voice electrical signal ME in accordance with a voice information selecting signal MCS issued from the control unit 24 in accociation with the outputs of the status detectors 25, 26, and delivers the voice electrical signal ME to an acoustic device 21. After completion of the issue of a predetermined voice information, the tape reproducing device 10 restarts its reproduction in association with disappearance of the signal ST1.

When the refueling signal is generated, the signal is made to be one starting point for the running distance. When a display request instruction from the refueling time is generated by the operating part 5, the running distance from said starting point is displayed on the display 11 by digits.
