As the aluminum alloy cleaning solution, an alkali cleaning solution containing at least one kind of alkali builders selected from hydroxides of alkali metals, salts of inorganic phosphoric alkali metals and salts of carbonic alkali metals by 0.5 to 50.0 g/L, a vanadium compound by 0.01 to 10 g/L as vanadium atoms and a surfactant by 0.1 to 10.0 g/L, and whose pH is 9.0 to 13.0 is preferable. The alkali cleaning solution is heated at 30 to 80 deg.C and is contacted with the surface of aluminum or an aluminum alloy for >=2 sec by a spray method or a dipping method, and cleaning is performed there.
