摘要： A clot retrieval device (9501) for removing occlusive clot from a blood vessel comprises an inner elongate body (9503) and an outer elongate body (9504) at least partially overlying the inner elongate body (9503). The device also comprises an elongate member or shaft (9502) having a proximal end which extends exterior of a patient so that a user can retrieve the stent-basket device and captured clot by retracting the shaft (9502). The outer elongate body (9504) and the inner elongate body (9503) are connected to the distal end of the shaft (9502) and are expandable relative to the shaft (9502) from a collapsed delivery configuration to an expanded deployed configuration. The outer elongate body (9504) is expandable relative to the inner elongate body (9503) to a radial extent which is greater than the radial extent of the inner body (9503) in the deployed configuration. The stent-basket construction of the device creates a reception space (9507) between the inner (9503) and outer (9504) to receive the target clot. The outer body (9504) is configured to allow as much as possible of the clot to migrate through it into the internal reception space (9507). Housing the clot in this reception space rather than pinning it to the wall of the vessel means that the clot is under less compression and can thus be retracted at a lower force. The inner elongate body (9503) and a distal capture net (9505) protect the distal vascular bed from embolisation.

摘要： In a method for filtering embolic material, a guide catheter (5) is advanced through a vasculature. A delivery catheter (4), a guidewire (2) and a collapsed filter are advanced together through the guide catheter (5) to a point distally of the distal end of the guide catheter (5). The guidewire (2) is then advanced across the lesion. During this advancement of the guidewire (2), the delivery catheter (4) and the collapsed filter remain substantially stationary. When the guidewire (2) has crossed the lesion, the delivery catheter (4) and the collapsed filter are then advanced across the lesion until the collapsed filter is distal of the lesion. The delivery catheter (4) is then withdrawn to facilitate deployment of the filter at the location distal of the lesion to ensure that any embolic material released during performance of an interventional procedure at the lesion will be captured and safely retained within the filter.

摘要： A device for the removal of clot obstructing the flow of blood through an arterial vessel comprises an elongate member, a clot engaging element and a capture basket. The elongate member extends in use from a point adjacent a target treatment site interior of the patient to a point exterior of the patient. The capture basket comprises a frame and a net, and has an expanded and a collapsed configuration. The clot engaging element comprises a plurality of struts having an expanded and a collapsed configuration. The plurality of struts form a first section and a second section, the first section tapering outward and distally from the elongate member and connected to the second section. The second section comprises a plurality of cells defined by a plurality of struts and arranged around at least a portion of the circumference of an axis substantially parallel to that of the elongate member. The clot engaging element and the capture basket are restrained in the collapsed configuration for delivery to the target site. The clot engaging element is located adjacent the distal end of the elongate member and proximal of the capture basket.

摘要： A retrieval catheter (1) comprises a distal tubular sheath (2) with a reception space (5) into which an embolic protection filter (10) may be retrieve. An elongate connector (10) extends proximally from the sheath (2) to allow a clinician to control movement of the sheath (12). The sheath (2) is backloaded over a procedural catheter such as a balloon catheter (20), for example for post dilitation of a stent (55). The procedure is more efficient and procedure time is reduced because a catheter system is provided which allows a procedural step to be carried out and a filter (50) to be retrieved.
