    • PURPOSE:To change an electric current applied to a printing hammer for optimum printing and improve printing quality and the life of an ink ribbon by providing an error detection means to compare outputs of a printing density detection circuit and a reference density generation circuit for determination and a hammer current control circuit to change the current to a printing hammer in accordance with the content of the error detection output. CONSTITUTION:The printing results which are output through printing on a printing paper 28 are detected by a printing density detection circuit 17 and transmitted to an error detection circuit 18. In the meantime, a density value required for predetermined optimum printing is output from a reference printing density generation circuit 16, and transmitted to the error detection circuit 18. The error detection circuit 18 compares the values obtained by the printing density detection circuit 17 with the reference printing density generation circuit 16, and transmits its difference to a hammer current control circuit 19. The hammer current control circuit 19 adds a value such as reducing an electric current supplied to a hammer coil 26, and when the density of printing results printed by the output of the error detection circuit 18 is higher than a reference printing density, adds a value such as increasing the current, while when the density is lower, to an ICONT terminal of a hammer drive circuit 21 respectively. Thus the current supplied to the hammer coil changes.

    • PURPOSE:To minimize recovery work when printing faults such as the omission of a word is generated, by counting the number of printing lines and performing test printing automatically when the counted number of printing lines reach the definite number of lines. CONSTITUTION:A line counter circuit 1 is reset to zero when a power source is turned on and, thereafter, and is incremented by +1 each time one line is printed. When the line counter circuit 1 reaches the predetermined number of lines, a test printing demand signal 1a is applied to a test printing control circuit 2. The width of the printing paper 11 mounted to a line printer is set by a paper width setting switch 13. When the data of one line is sent to a printing data memory 5, printing operation is applied only to a printing figure to which the printing paper is mounted and, because the printing to a printing figure to which no printing paper is mounted is prohibited by a blank code, blind printing can be prevented and optimum test printing matched with mounting state of the printing paper is performed.

    • PURPOSE:To automatically execute a test printing adaptive to a paper loading state by every fixed number of lines by providing a line counter circuit, a paper width detection mechanism, a test printing control circuit, and a test data generation circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a line counter circuit 1 reaches the predetermined number of lines, a test printing request is added to a test printing control circuit 2 through a signal line 1a, and the line counter circuit 1 is reset to zero. On the other hand, a paper width detection mechanism 13 detecting the (horizontal) width of printing paper 11 set to a line printer adds this paper width information to the test printing control circuit 2 through a line 13a. Then, the test printing control circuit 2 instructs the generation of a printing data code based on the paper width information to a test data generation circuit 4 through a signal line 2a. The test data generation circuit 4 generates a printing data code and a blank code and transmits them to a printing data memory 5 via a signal line 4a. When the data for one line is transmitted to the printing data memory 5, a printing action is executed only on printing digits loaded with the printing paper.
