摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fabric which can be manufactured at reduced costs, requiring less surface pile material, and which may have different aesthetic characteristics as compared with conventional ones. SOLUTION: The covering 10 for floors, walls or ceiling surfaces, comprises a primary backing 16 having discrete surface portions exposed on one side of the covering, a plurality of backstitches of a plurality of tufted yarns 18 ranging over the rest of the backing and extending along the reverse side of the primary backing from a primary discrete abrasion surface portion along the processed back surface of the covering with including loops or cut loops, and a composition fixing the stitches to the primary backing. In the covering, the primary backing has a plurality of regularly arranged stitch openings for accepting tufted yarns, each of the openings is arranged in a unit length, the backstitches are formed ranging over the openings arranged along the processed back surface of the covering in the distance of a multiple unit length and the opening includes either one of tufted yarns on the processed surface or the backstitches formed below the opening.
