    • A method of forming liquid crystal cell for a color display device includes forming a liquid crystal layer and a prism structure between top and bottom substrates. Forming the prism structure includes forming a lens shaped die, coating a low refractive index resin on the lens shaped die, pasting the lens shaped die to the top substrate, and irradiating the coated low refractive index resin so as to set the low refractive index resin and form a low refractive index layer. The lens shaped die is removed from the low refractive index layer, a high refractive index resin is coated on the low refractive index layer by use of a planarizing die. The coated high refractive index resin is irradiated so as to set the high refractive index resin and form a high refractive index layer, and the planarizing die is removed from the high refractive index layer.

    • The display device according to the present invention includes: a luminescence element, a capacitor, a drive transistor, a reference power source line, a first switching transistor, a data line, a second switching transistor which switches between conduction and non-conduction between the data line and a second electrode of the capacitor, a reset line, a scanning line, and a scanning line drive circuit. The scanning line drive circuit turns ON the first switching transistor so that reference voltage is supplied to the gate electrode of the drive transistor, and turns ON the second switching transistor in a period in which the first switching element is ON so that a predetermined reset voltage is applied from the data line to a connection point between a first electrode of the luminescence element and a source electrode of the drive transistor.

    • An image display apparatus according to an implementation of the present invention includes: pixel circuits disposed in rows and columns; first power lines and control lines disposed in respective rows; a third power line; second switching transistors disposed at least one for each of the rows and each having a gate terminal connected to the control line disposed in the corresponding row, one of a source terminal and a drain terminal connected to the first power line disposed in the corresponding row, and the other of the source terminal and the drain terminal connected to the third power line; and a power supply unit which supplies the same voltage to the first power lines and the third power line when the second switching transistors are turned ON.

    • A display panel device includes: a luminescence element; a capacitor including first and second capacitor electrodes; a driver having a gate connected to the first capacitor electrode for allowing a drain current to flow through the luminescence element and a source connected to the second capacitor electrode; a first switch switchably interconnecting a data line and the first capacitor electrode for supplying a signal voltage to the capacitor; a second switch switchably interconnecting the drain of the driver and a power line; and a controller. The controller is configured to: turn ON the first switch while the second switch is ON to supply the signal voltage to the capacitor and flow a current between the source of the driver and the second capacitor electrode; and, after predetermined time period, turn OFF the second switch to cause non-conduction between the power line and the drain of the driver.
