    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye for a dye-sensitized solar cell having an excellent photoelectric conversion characteristic, a semiconductor electrode having an excellent photoelectric conversion efficiency sensitized by the dye for a dye-sensitized solar cell, and a dye-sensitized solar cell using the semiconductor electrode.SOLUTION: The dye for a dye-sensitized solar cell is shown by general formula (1), the semiconductor electrode is sensitized by the dye, and the dye-sensitized solar cell uses the semiconductor electrode. In the formula, L denotes a bivalent linking group; Yand Ydenote an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; R-Rdenote a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; Rand Ror Rand Reach may connect to form a cyclopentane ring or a cyclohexane ring; Land Ldenote a conjugate methine group unit; and Aand Ahave at least one acid group in which pKa is less than 6, and denote an organic residue having an atom group which is necessary to form a pigment structure.
