摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain coater capable of stably manufacturing coated paper by preventing the contamination of devices in a post stage with an undried coating liquid.
SOLUTION: A shutter pan is provided for a curtain coater which flows the curtain like coating liquid 20 down from a coater head onto a traveling web 4 for forming a coating layer thereon, the shutter pan being moved between an advanced position in which the shutter pan blocks the coating liquid 20 flowing from the coater head from reaching the web and a retreated position in which the shutter pan does not block the coating liquid. The shutter pan is constituted comprising a shutter pan body 2a having a coating liquid tank 2b for storing the coating liquid 20 inside, a lip 2c projecting forward of and above the front edge 2d of the shutter pan body 2a for guiding the coating liquid 20 to the shutter pan body 2a, and a communicating portion provided in a coating liquid tank 2b between a portion 2ba forward of the lip 2c and a portion 2bb behind the lip 2c.
