    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry a fallen cask to a prescribed place even in the case where the cask is fallen in a cask storage building not equipped with an overhead crane.
      SOLUTION: According to this carrying method of fallen cask, when a substantially cylindrical cask 2 the bottom surface of which is fixed to a rectangular flat plate-like base plate 3 and which is provided with a trunnion 4 protrusively provided on the circumference of the cask head-side drum part is fallen and laid in a horizontal state on a floor surface 8, the trunnion 4 and the base plate 3 are lifted up first to form a space 17 between the cask 2 and the floor surface 8. Air pallets 15 are inserted to the space 17 on the cask head side and cask bottom surface side, respectively. Compressed gas is supplied to the air pallets 15 and blown out from the air pallets 15 toward the floor surface 8, thereby, a buoyancy is given to the fallen cask 2, and the fallen cask 2 is carried along the floor surface 8 by use of the buoyancy.
