    • PURPOSE:To control the boiling state of liquid film in a heat transfer pipe at its upper part and consequently prevent the liquid film from separating by a structure wherein a heat transfer buffering body is interposed onto the outer surface of the heat transfer pipe at its upper part. CONSTITUTION:A heat transfer buffering body is located onto the outer peripheral surface of the heat transfer pipe at its upper region so as to suppress the heat flow in the direction of pipe wall thickness in said region. The heat transfer buffering body 1 is made of metallic fibers 1'. The heat transfer buffering body 1 contacts with high temperature condensate, resulting in holding liquid water among the fibers due to the surface tension of the water. Concretely, because the condensate generates on the outer peripheral surface of the fibering body 1 due to the condensing heat transfer of steam having saturation temperature and shifts itself in the direction of the thickness of the buffering body 1 by diffusion, the state of coexistence of fiber and water is realized in the buffering body 1 during usage, resulting in enabling to have the thermal conductivity of the buffering body 1 determined by the coefficients of thermal conductivities and the ratio of volumes of the fiber and the water.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the stripping and cracking of a cladding member by forming a ferrite decarburized layer at a required depth on the surface of a steel base material and cladding by welding an austenitic stainless steel on said surface. CONSTITUTION:There are various methods to be adopted for decarburizing the surface of the steel base material in addition to a method using CO2. If the depth of the ferrite decarburized layer is =1.5mm.. The austenitic stainless steel welding material is not particularly limited. The operation is more convenient if the welding material consisting essentially of 19-26W% Cr, 9-23W% Ni and the balance Fe and added with Si, Mn and Nb for the purpose of improving weldability is used.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent adhesion of combustion dust to a furnace wall, by a method wherein nozzle for the air are so located as to allow formation of an air layer on the surface of the furnace wall. CONSTITUTION:Separately from a nozzle 7 for the air for combustion, nozzles 21 for the air for furnace wall seal are located to a furnace wall 8. An air 25 for seal, fed in after flowing through the furnace wall 8, is injected through injection nozzles 22 located in 6 spots at the upper and the lower. The plural nozzles 21 for furnace wall seal are located to the furnace wall 8, and the air 25 for seal is injected through the nozzles 21 in 2 ways of an upward and a downward direction in the furnace at a moderately-increased speed in a manner that the air flows along the inner surface of the furnace wall 8. The injected air 25 for seal flows along the furnace wall 8 to form an air layer. This prevents adhesion of combustion dust to the furnace wall, and further enables decrease of the temperature of the surface of the furnace wall.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a carburization phenomenon by placing austenitic stainless steel plates plated with Ni on one side on carbon steel or low alloy steel plates coated therein with a coating material contg. no C in such a way that the coating layers contact with each other and sealing the circumference then hot rolling these plates. CONSTITUTION:Two sets of steel plates formed by superposing austenitic stainless steel plates 2 plated with Ni on one side on carbon steel or low alloy steel plates 1 coated with a coating material contg. no C in such a way that the coating layers contact with each other are placed at a space 3 to face each other. Spacers 4 and the plates 1 are joined by fillet welding W to form one block. The air existing in the spaces in the block is discharged through an air vent pipe 5 and a blind plug 6 is welded to the pipe 5. The block is heated for about 10 hours at about 1,000 deg.C in a heating furnace and after the spacers 4 and joined parts W at both ends are disconnected, the steel plates are hot rolled.

    • PURPOSE: To inhibit the pitting corrosion of an austenitic stainless steel sheet, by acid pickling a hot-rolled steel sheet to remove surface scale, and then dipping it in a hot aqueous alkali solution to remove nonmetallic inclusions exposed on the surface.
      CONSTITUTION: A hot-rolled austenitic stainless steel sheet is pickled to remove scale on its surface. Thereafter, the steel sheet is dipped in the hot aqueous solution of alkali such as caustic soda, for instance, a hot aqueous caustic soda solution of concentration of 30W50%, to remove nonmetallic inclusions composed of silicon and aluminum. Consequently, the silicon- and aluminum-type nonmetallic inclusions which would act as the starting points to form pitting corrosion during the use of the austenitic stainless steel sheet are removed to eliminate the formation of pitting corrosion.
