The light control member 15 shields at least part of light emitted from the LED in the optical axis direction of the LED 12 by reflecting the light emitted from the LED to the inside of the opening part 14. The light guide plate 13 makes light emitted from the LED 12 and the light that is emitted from the LED 12 in the optical axis direction of the LED 12 and reflected by the light control member 15 enter from an inner wall face of the opening part 14, and emits the incident light from the surface.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device having good luminous efficiency while suppressing discomfort glare as much as possible when a user looks up at the device.SOLUTION: A light emitting device 10 includes: a substrate 11; a light emitting diode (LED) that emits light and is mounted on the substrate; and a cylindrical reflector 14 in which an opening 17 is provided in an optical axis direction of the LED 12. The plurality of LEDs 12 are mounted on the substrate linearly. In the LED 12, luminous intensity in a non-axial direction that is a direction tilted by a specific angle from the optical axis is larger than luminous intensity of the optical axis direction. The reflector 14 reflects light incident at least from the LED 12 to the non-axis direction of the LED 12 at a reflection surface 15 and emits the light from the opening 17. The reflection surface 15 of the reflector 14 is, for example, a pyramid surface, a conical surface, or a paraboloidal surface.
