SOLUTION: The commutator motor 100 includes a field system 40 formed by applying field windings 5a, 5b to a field core 1, and an armature 50 which is arranged inside the field core 1 via a gap 14, has an armature winding 7 applied in a slot of an armature core 6, and rotates in only one direction. In the motor, the dimension of a diameter direction of the gap 14 between the field core 1 and the armature core 6 is small in a forward side of the rotating direction of the armature 50 and large in a backward side of the rotating direction of the armature 50.
