    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive control device which, when abnormality occurs in a drive control circuit, can suspend drive instruction signals generated by the drive control circuit simultaneously, thereby letting an AC motor to stop safely.SOLUTION: A monitoring control circuit 130A and a drive command signal cutoff circuit 150A are provided for a drive control circuit 120A which controls at variable speed an AC motor 16 which is supplied with power via a semiconductor bridge circuit 140A from a DC drive power supply 15, so that when abnormality occurs in the drive control circuit 120A, drive command signals UP1, VP1, WP1, UN1, VN1 and WN1 generated by the drive control circuit 120A are suspended simultaneously. At start of operation, the drive control circuit 120A and the monitoring control circuit 130A, while cooperating with each other, make a preliminary check to see if the drive command signal cutoff circuit 150A operates normally on the basis of a designated time schedule and, for abnormality occurring in the middle of operation, stop the AC motor 16 surely.
