    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of variable control of luminance or color adjustment of display colors after completion of the device.SOLUTION: A pixel structure of a display panel used in a naked-eye stereoscopic image display device employs an in-plane switching mode of generating a lateral electric field between a pixel electrode and a common electrode in an interdigital electrode 5 formed on a transparent substrate 25, and rotating liquid crystal molecules 23e in-plane to control light transmittance. An opposing transparent electrode 4, which is not provided in a normal liquid crystal panel in an in-plane switching mode, is formed on a transparent substrate 22 side corresponding to a pixel peripheral area; a vertical electric field is forcibly generated between the opposing transparent electrode 4 and the interdigital electrode 5; and the liquid crystal molecules 4 are raised to display the pixel peripheral area in black. In two-dimensional image display, the opposing transparent electrode 4 is set in a floating state to achieve the substantially equivalent state as a structure not provided with the opposing transparent electrode 4, so as to display the pixel peripheral area at the same luminance as that of the pixel main area.
