    • An optical scanning apparatus for scanning a light beam as a spot image on an image-forming plane apart from a light source, or reversely, for optically reading the graphic image of an object, in which stable high-resolution scanning is embodied. The apparatus includes a light source for providing a collimated beam, a cylindrical lens for linear focusing of the beam in a subscanning direction, a deflector for deflecting the beam in the main scanning direction, plastic toroidal lenses for image-forming the deflected beam and for focusing it to form a spot image, so that the three toroidal lenses have a small F.sub.No and compensate for the tilted mirror surface of the deflector, and allows stable scanning with high resolution that produces high-quality images in optical apparatus such as laser printers and facsimile machines.

    • A color image forming apparatus includes a photoreceptor medium, an exposing unit, a plurality of developer units, and a power supply. The exposing unit scans light onto the photoreceptor drum to form a latent electrostatic image. The plurality of developer units include developer rollers supplying toner to the latent electrostatic image to develop the latent electrostatic image into a toner image. Each developer unit contains toner of a different color, and the developer units are arranged around the photoreceptor medium so that the developer rollers are separated by a development gap from the photoreceptor medium. The power supply selectively applies a first bias allowing toner to be supplied through the development gap to the photoreceptor medium on which the latent electrostatic image is formed and a second bias preventing toner from passing through the development gap.

    • A laser scanning unit and an electrophotographic image forming apparatus adopting the same include a plurality of photogenerators emitting parallel lights, a plurality of rotatable polygonal mirrors which deflect the lights emitted from the photogenerators in a main scanning direction having a range of a predetermined angle to scan the lights onto photosensitive media proceeding in a sub scanning direction, the rotatable polygonal mirrors stacked on a driving unit to match corresponding ones of the photogenerators and coupled with a rotation shaft of the driving unit to rotate therewith, a plurality of first lenses which are installed in light paths between the photogenerators and the rotatable polygonal mirrors, respectively, and collect the lights in the sub scanning direction, and a plurality of second lenses which collect the lights deflected by the rotatable polygonal mirrors on corresponding ones of the photosensitive media.
