    • An exhaust gas recirculation control device in a diesel engine, capable of suppressing NOx and smoke discharged. A first temperature sensor (11) is provided at a portion more on the upstream side than a portion where a suction air path (3) joins an exhaust gas recirculation path (4), and a second temperature sensor (12) is provided on the downstream side. Further, an engine load detection sensor (6) and an engine speed detection sensor (7) are arranged. The exhaust gas recirculation control device also has memory means where the temperature of suction air before it is mixed with an exhaust gas and a temperature value at a second temperature sensor installation position are previously memorized, the temperature value corresponding to an appropriate exhaust gas recirculation amount that is uniquely defined by an engine load and an engine speed. Further, judging means is provided. The judging means compares the corresponding temperature value memorized in the memory means and a value detected by the second temperature sensor. When the detected value is within a predetermined range relative to the temperature value, a circulation exhaust gas amount is determined to be appropriate, and when the detected value is not within a predetermined range relative to the temperature value, a circulation exhaust gas amount is determined to be abnormal.

    • An object is to provide a diesel engine (2) that eliminates discomfort when an operator of a working machine coupled to the diesel engine (2) is at work while a particulate filter (10) is being regenerated. A diesel engine (2) includes an exhaust emission purifier (1) and selecting means (41) capable of selecting any one control method from isochronous control and droop control. The exhaust emission purifier (1) includes a particulate filter (10) and a pressure regulation valve (61). The particulate filter (10) is disposed along an exhaust stream to purify exhaust gas. The pressure regulation valve (61) is configured to apply a load onto the diesel engine (2) so as to raise a temperature of the particulate filter (10) so that a particulate accumulable in the particulate filter (10) is forcibly removed and that the particulate filter (10) is regenerated. The selecting means (41) is configured to select the isochronous control to control the diesel engine (2) when the load is applied by the pressure regulation valve (61).

    • Provided is an exhaust purification device for an internal combustion engine, wherein the operation of an internal combustion engine can be prevented from being maintained when a particulate filter is melted. An exhaust purification device (1) for an internal combustion engine (2) is comprised of a particulate filter (10); a downstream-side temperature sensor (20a) which detects a downstream-side exhaust temperature (T1); a filter temperature sensor (20b) which detects a filter temperature (T10); an exhaust differential pressure detection device (21) which calculates an exhaust differential pressure (P(n)) between an upstream-side exhaust pressure (p1) and a downstream-side exhaust pressure (p2) at predetermined time intervals; a notification device (40); and an ECU (30) which controls the internal combustion engine (2). In the exhaust purification device (1), a differential pressure variation (dP) is calculated on the basis of a first exhaust differential pressure (P(n−1)) and a second exhaust differential pressure (P(n)) after the elapse of a predetermined period of time. When the differential pressure variation (dP) is equal to or larger than a reference variation (Ps) or the downstream-side exhaust temperature (T1) remains equal to or larger than an exhaust reference temperature (T1s) for a period of time equal to or longer than a reference period of time (ts), a demand to stop operating the internal combustion engine (2) is notified, or the operation is stopped.
