摘要： An apparatus for forming a shaped fibrous nonwoven structure including a delivery system adapted to provide a high speed composite stream comprising thermoplastic polymer fibers and a secondary material. The apparatus also includes a movable collection device having a collection surface which intersects the composite stream, and at least one deflector to mechanically redirect at least a portion of the composite stream. Further the deflector moves in synchronization with the movable collection device, such that the composite stream is collected on the collection surface forming a fibrous nonwoven structure having at least one non-linear edge.

摘要： A method of making stretchable absorbent articles includes the steps of providing a continuous substrate layer, providing one or more streams of adhesive fibers and superabsorbent particles, shaping the one or more streams of adhesive fibers and superabsorbent particles, depositing the adhesive fibers and superabsorbent particles on the substrate layer to form a plurality of shaped absorbent cores bound to the substrate layer, and separating the absorbent cores from each other. The absorbent cores thus formed do not prevent stretching of the substrate layer. The combination of absorbent core and substrate layer can be used in a wide variety of personal care absorbent articles and medical absorbent articles.

摘要： An absorbent article has a substrate and an absorbent structure comprising at least two adjacent absorbent segments arranged in generally edge-facing-edge relationship with each other and having a boundary region therebetween. The absorbent segments are attached to the substrate for movement with the substrate. The absorbent segments and boundary region are constructed to permit movement of the absorbent segments relative to each other at the boundary region therebetween upon movement of the substrate. In other embodiments, the article has at a pair of absorbent structures in superposed relationship between a pair of substrates. Each of the absorbent structures is made up of two or more absorbent segments having a boundary region therebetween, with the absorbent segments of one absorbent structure being free to move relative to the absorbent segments of the other absorbent structure.
