    • In one embodiment, a system of notification management having a notification manager may comprise a memory configured to store instructions and to store information concerning a plurality of service providers and a processor configured to execute the instructions stored in the memory, wherein execution of the instructions generates a notification based on status information provided by a service provider. The processor may also be configured to: (i) receive contact information and a designation concerning a service provider from a customer, the designated service provider being selected from the plurality of service providers stored in memory; (ii) send an alert to the designated service provider, the alert concerning the customer associated with the received contact information; (iii) receive status information from the service provider in response to the alert; and (iv) send the generated notification to the customer using the received contact information.

    • The invention describes a method and device for designing a set of codewords, which have good properties for use in communication systems. These codeword sets are useful because they provide advantages to a communication system that uses them in that they result in lower error rates in the receiver. The method for designing the codes is to take a good set of codes with perfect periodic autocorrelation and manipulate it so as to transform it into a better code-set, for example a code-set with higher mean Golay merit factor, lower spectral peak to average ratio and lower mean cross correlation.

    • Stochastic models of aircraft flight paths and a method for deriving such models from recorded air traffic data. Each stochastic model involves identifying the flight plan for one or more aircraft; identifying important parameters from each flight plan, such as aircraft type, cruise altitude, and airspeed; optionally identifying flight plan amendments for each flight; representing each route of flight as a series of navigational fixes; representing at least one aircraft flight parameter probabilistically; modeling realistic differences in at least one dimension between each planned route of flight and the flight path as it might actually be flown; and communicating the modeled deviations or simulated flight paths to the user. At least one aircraft flight parameter is represented as a random variable with a particular statistical distribution, such as a normal (Gaussian), Laplacian, or logistic distribution; or with a more complex algorithm containing one or more random elements. The modeled flight parameters may be any of lateral position, longitudinal position, climb altitude, descent altitude, climb airspeed, descent airspeed, cruise airspeed, cruise altitude transition, or response time to a flight plan amendment.
