    • An electrical connector for use in an SIR system comprises a connector housing which has a plug portion with a filter cavity disposed therein. A filter element which has a pair of longitudinally disposed receptacles is disposed within the filter cavity. The connector also has a pair of terminals each of which has a barrel portion that is disposed within each of the receptacles within the filter element and a perpendicular crimp portion. A retaining cap which has a connector position assurance portion (CPA) and a cover portion connected by a pair of flexible straps is fastened to the connector housing to align and retain the terminals within the connector housing. The terminals have a U-shaped transition area that allows for a smaller terminal.

    • An electrical jack cable assembly includes a jack cable connector and an adaptor coupling for attaching the connector to a support. The adaptor coupling has a face plate and a tray that extends to a rear wall. The connector body is retained in the tray behind the abutment wall so that the rear wall resists any movement of the connector body with respect to the adaptor coupling in the plug-in direction. The jack cable assembly is made by providing a jack cable connector providing an adaptor coupling having a tray that extends rearwardly to a rear wall and assembling the connector body to the tray by slanting the connector body and inserting the slanted connector body into the tray until it passes over the rear wall of the tray. The rear end of the connector body is then pushed down for retaining the connector body firmly and positively in the tray.

    • An electrical jack cable assembly includes a jack cable connector and an adaptor coupling for attaching the connector to a support. The jack connector has a plurality of electric cables, a plurality of electric terminals and a connector body. The adaptor coupling has a face plate, a tray that extends to a rear wall of reduced height, and a socket at a forward end that extends rearwardly from an opening in the face plate to an intermediate wall. The abutment wall has a plurality of through holes for inserting protruding ends of into the socket from a portion of the tray behind the abutment wall. The connector body in retained in the tray behind the abutment wall so that the rear wall resists any movement of the connector body with respect to the adaptor coupling in the plug-in direction. The jack cable assembly is made by providing ajack cable connector having cables that enter a rearward end of the connector body and electric terminals that protrude from a forward end of the connector body, providing an adaptor coupling having a tray that extends rearwardly to a rear wall of reduced height, and assembling the connector body to the tray by slanting the connector body and inserting the slanted connector body into the tray until it passes over the rear wall of the tray. The rear end of the connector body is then pushed down against the floor of the tray engaging means for retaining the connector body firmly and positively in the tray so that the rear wall resists movement of the connector body with respect to the adaptor coupling in the plug-in direction.

    • A pass-thru electrical connector assembly is an integral part of a barrier wall which separates a harsh environment from a controlled environment. A connector body having a staged position and a locked position on the barrier wall has a flange which extends radially outward from one end of an axial projecting portion. Via rotation of the connector body from the staged position to the locked position, the projecting portion of the connector body moves axially forward through a hole of the barrier wall as a ring seal is preferably axially compressed between the flange and one side of the barrier wall. Axial movement of the connector body is achieved via a plurality of locking lugs which protrude radially outward from and are spaced circumferentially about the projecting portion of the connector body. The lugs are aligned circumferentially with a plurality of slots spaced about and communicating with the hole of the barrier wall when the connector body is in the staged position. When the connector body rotates from the staged position to the locked position, the lugs become misaligned to the slots. Simultaneously, a flex lock cantilevered from the projecting portion and disposed between two of the locking lugs snaps radially outward into one of the slots to lock the connector body to the barrier wall.
