    • A method and apparatus for printing a desired pattern on a substrate by discharging continuous streams of liquid ink drops from nozzles towards the substrate, and selectively charging the liquid ink drops with multi-level charges deflecting them different amounts. Some of the liquid ink drops are thus directed to different locations on the substrate for printing the desired pattern thereon, while other liquid ink drops not to be printed are intercepted by a gutter before reaching the substrate. At least some of the liquid ink drops to be printed being either uncharged or charged with a multi-level charge of one polarity, while all the liquid ink drops not to be printed are charged with a charge of the opposite polarity. Each stream of ink drops discharged from a nozzle is illuminated with stroboscopic light at the same frequency as the drop formation, and the illuminated stream is optically sensed on the fly for determining various conditions, including ink velocity, X-axis offset and Y-axis offset.

    • An illumination chamber for illuminating an object with substantially uniform illumination and providing an image of the object, the illumination chamber includes a generally 6-faced polyhedron opaque housing, which encloses a light mixing chamber. The housing includes an object transparent glass sheet, an image transparent glass sheet and at least one light source disposed inside the housing. The object transparent glass sheet is disposed at a first of the two larger faces of the 6-faced polyhedron and image transparent glass sheet is disposed at the second large face of the 6-faced polyhedron, opposing the object glass sheet. The object to be images, typically a document, is disposed immediately adjacent to the external surface of the object transparent glass sheet. The image of the objects exits the housing through the image transparent glass sheet.

    • A camera system for imaging a document including an enclosed imaging-optical-chamber, at least one camera mounted inside the imaging-optical-chamber and having a lens defining the primary FOV of the camera, at least one light source for illuminating the document; at least one light-occluding structures, wherein each light sources are operatively coupled with a light-occluding structures, a glass-window, wherein the document is operatively disposed on the glass-window, and wherein the glass-window extends the FOV of the camera thereby forming an extended FOV of the camera. The system further includes at least one mirror operatively coupled with at least one of the light sources. Preferably, the light sources are disposed inside the primary FOV of the camera, such that the imaginary light-source of the light source is disposed outside the extended FOV of the camera.
