摘要： A system and method for managing shared resources is disclosed. The system includes a primary coherency processing unit which processes lock requests from a plurality of data processing hosts, the primary coherency processing unit also storing a first current lock state information for the plurality of data processing hosts, the first current lock state information including a plurality of locks held by the plurality of data processing hosts. The system further includes a standby coherency processing unit storing fewer locks than the primary coherency processing unit, the locks stored by the standby coherency processing unit being a subset of locks included in the first current lock state information, the standby coherency unit configured to perform a plurality of activities of the primary coherency processing unit using the subset of locks in response to a failure of the primary coherency processing unit.

Creating the database cluster configuration data model using the database cluster configuration modeling specification and upon receiving signals from a graphical user interface or from XML batch data files or from application programming interfaces, indicating the definition of the cluster configuration model. After creating the graphical database cluster configuration data model, constraints that specify a valid logical configuration are validated and the solution is transformed into data understandable by database cluster manager software applications and then transmitted over a network to multiple cluster manager targets to be incorporated as database cluster configuration availability solutions.

摘要： Generating a plurality of database cluster failover policy availability configuration modeling solutions by a database cluster management system in an environment of networked computer systems includes receiving a first signal from a user system specifying one of a plurality of database cluster failover policy type behavior patterns. The database cluster management system determines whether generating any of the failover policy type behavior patterns requires additional supplemental data. If no supplemental data are required, then the database cluster management system generates general database cluster policy solutions. If supplemental data are required, then the system utilizes an algorithm to generate unique, specific policy solutions by creating failover node sequences for each of the plurality of failover policy type behavior patterns requiring such additional supplemental data. The entire solutions can be displayed and then transmitted to multiple database cluster managers over a network to correct availability failure in networked database cluster configurations.
