    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image quality from deteriorating in a mode which represents a large number of receiving beams, and to lead out an lateral resolution as much as possible in a mode which represents a small number of receiving beams.
      SOLUTION: In an SSP mode which represents one receiving beam, a beam transmission is performed by widening an opening width AP(SSP). In a PSP mode which represents that the number of the receiving beams is two, or in a QSP mode which represents that the number of the receiving beams is four, the opening widths AP(PSP), and AP(QSP) are made narrower, so that the beam transmission is performed.

    • There is provided a small-size low-price ultrasonographic device capable of appropriately controlling a predetermined transmission output in just proportion for a drive waveform different for each mode by using a single power supply section without affecting the characteristic of the drive waveform. The ultrasonographic device includes: ultrasonic wave generation means (1) for transmitting an ultrasonic wave; waveform generation means (2) for generating a single pulse or a burst-shaped pulse whose duty ratio can be varied in time unit of the cycle corresponding to a frequency out of the frequency band of the ultrasonic wave generation means (1) and driving the ultrasonic wave generation means (1); and a single power supply section (3) for deciding the amplitude of the drive waveform generated by the waveform generation means (2). Thus, the acoustic output of the ultrasonic wave transmitted can be controlled without changing the transmission amplitude.
