    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium or the like for which access can be performed without failure even if it is a reproduction exclusive apparatus. SOLUTION: In this recording medium, a first recording layer and a second recording layer are laminated, light is radiated from the first recording layer side and the write-in and/or read-out of user data are performed. The first recording layer has a first data region in which the user data can be written. The second recording layer has a second data region in which the user data can be written and an auxiliary region which is provided adjacent to the second data region and in which prescribed data are recorded. The second data region is prescribed in substantially the same range as the first data region or a smaller range than the first data region. The auxiliary region is provided at a radiation start position of light at the time of accessing to the second recording layer.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a read-only optical recording medium which has high compatibility with a BD and wherein data can be reproduced by a DVD device or a CD device. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is provided with a first light transmission layer 4, a second light transmission layer 5, a first information carrier surface 2 for performing reproduction by using a blue light beam, and a second information carrier surface 3 for performing reproduction by using a red light beam. Stable reproduction is made possible by the DVD device and compatibility with the BD is made high by specifying the reflectance R 1R of the first information carrier surface 2 to be R 1R ≤1-(0.5/R 2R ) 1/2 and specifying the reflectance of the first information carrier surface 2 to the blue light to be ≥3%, when the first light transmission layer 4 has 0.08 to 0.12 mm thickness, the second light transmission layer 5 has 0.43 to 0.57 mm thickness and the first and the second information carrier surfaces 2 and 3 have reflectance R 1R and R 2R , respectively, to red color light.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a pirated edition from being used by bar-coding the positional information being a kind of an ID for preventing pirated edition. SOLUTION: This is a reproducing device reproducing an optical disk 800 having a first recording layer and a second recording layer readable from one surface side by an optical head, and having the bar code forming striped marks of low reflectance long in the radial direction on a part of the recording layer in the recording areas of the first recording layer and the second recording layer. Then, the device is provided with a first layer/second layer switch means 827 for switching the focus of the optical head to the first recording layer from the second recording layer, a focus control means 828 receiving a command from the first layer/second layer switch means 827 and controlling the focus, a focus drive means 829 driving the optical head according to a signal from the focus control means 828. The device reproduces the signal of the mark existing on the prescribed area by switching the focus of the optical head.
