    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that groove formation and addressing are performed without considering contiguous reproduction across a plurality of recording layers, and consequently loss of performance and an increase in a cost of an apparatus for reproducing such information recording medium are incurred.
      SOLUTION: An optical disk has at least first and second recording layers placed one over the other in such a manner that information recorded in each layer is optically readable from one side of the disk. Tracks are formed on the first and the second recording layers with a plurality of sectors provided along the tracks. The racks on the first and the second layers are in a spiral pattern and arranged such that the spiral patterns on the first and the second layers have opposite winding directions when viewed from the same side of the disk. The sector addresses provided to the first recording layer are increased from the most inside circumference to the most outside circumference, and the sector addresses provided to the second recording layer are increased from the most outside circumference to the most inside circumference. The sector addresses on the first and the second layers in approximately corresponding places in the radial direction of the disk are in complementary relationship.
