The apparatus removes smears from the image forming drum by placing a different portion of the charging member in contact with the drum. 摘要： In a charging device used in a cleanerless image forming apparatus and including a charging brush in contact with an image bearing member, a scraping member is provided which is in contact with the charging brush with a predetermined amount of indentation overlap on an upstream side of a contact portion between the charging brush and the image bearing member with respect to a rotational direction of the charging brush. With such an arrangement, the developer, which is scraped from the charging brush by the scraping member and then adheres onto the image bearing member, is recharged by the charging brush so as to be collected by a developing-cleaning device.

The terminal apparatus includes a setting unit for setting a printing condition for a document, a generating unit for generating print data containing data of the document, setting data indicating the printing condition, and instruction information instructing to register the printing condition, and a transmitting unit for transmitting the print data. The printing control apparatus includes a storage unit for storing the printing condition and name information specifying the printing condition, a receiving unit for receiving the print data, a recognizing unit for recognizing that the print data contains the instruction information, and a registering unit for causing the printing condition indicated by the setting data to be stored in the storage unit if it is recognized that the print data contains the instruction information.

The tab sheet supply unit supplies tab sheets of an identical type from an identical sheet supply tray as a chapter tab sheet to be inserted at a breakpoint of a first level of classification of a document to be printed, as well as a section tab sheet to be inserted at a breakpoint of a second level that is a finer level of classification than the first level of classification. The control unit causes the tab sheet contained in the sheet supply tray to be discharged as an unnecessary tab sheet, if the tab position of the tab sheet to be supplied next from the sheet supply tray does not match with the tab position of the tab sheet to be inserted next during the printing of the document, until both of the tab positions match.
