    • A solar battery powered electronic timepiece of the type wherein a watch glass and a base plate supporting a solar battery are secured in an annular recess in a watch case. The base plate is positioned on a bottom surface of the recess and secured in position by a resilient packing which is preferably made from a resin material. The packing extends around the base plate and has a portion which overlines the outer periphery of the base plate and on which is positioned the watch glass. Another portion of the packing extends between the outer periphery of the watch glass and a side wall of the recess to secure the watch glass in position. A structure of this type is particularly suitable for securing a base plate of a material such as epoxy resin to which fastening legs cannot easily be attached.

    • A watch case structure comprising a watchglass member, a bezel member, a case band member and a back cover member interconnected to define said watch case structure. One of said members includes an inclined surface and a substantially vertical wall. An annular groove means is formed in another one of said members and includes an inclined surface. A synthetic resin gasket is disposed in said annular groove means of said another one of said members and includes an inclined guiding surface and an inclined engaging surface engaging with the inclined surface of said annular groove means. The one of said members is press fitted to said synthetic resin gasket, whereby said synthetic resin gasket is made to fill a space formed by the vertical wall of said one of said members and said annular groove means and at least a portion of said synthetic resin gasket is compressed between the inclined surface of said one of said members and the inclined surface of said annular groove means to thereby fixedly retain said one of said members in place.

    • A pushbutton device comprises a pipe or tubular member for being affixed to a casing as of an electronic watch, a pushbutton body axially movably disposed in the pipe, resilient structure for returning the pushbutton body to an original position, structure for retaining the pushbutton body in the pipe, and a plurality of contacts selectively actuatable by the pushbutton body into and out of mutual electrical contact. Either the pushbutton body or the pipe has at least one step on its upper surface remote from the contacts to provide a plurality of stepped strokes of depressed movement of the pushbutton body with respect to the pipe for selective actuation of the contacts. The resilient structure may be a coil spring or a resilient leaf spring.
