    • A laminograph including, a radiation source for generating radiation towards a subject, a radiation surface sensor device with a two-dimensional resolution, fitted opposite to the radiation source for detecting the radiation from the radiation source which has passed through the subject, a scanning device for moving the subject to take a plurality of different positions between the radiation source and the radiation surface sensor device and for scanning the subject in each of the different positions by the radiation from the radiation source. The laminograph further includes a data collection device for collecting the plurality of outputs of the radiation surface sensor device during the scanning by the scanning device to obtain the plurality of radiographic images of the subject in the different positions, a position measurement device for measuring multiple positions of a focal plane at multiple places of the subject, a displacement measurement device for measuring multiple displacement based on the multiple positions of the focal plane measured by the position measurement device, and an image processing device for adding and averaging the plurality of radiographic images with the displacements to obtain a radiographic image of the subject focused on the focal plane as a tomographic image of the subject.

    • A computed tomography scanner for obtaining a tomographic image of a subject to be examined including a radiation emitting device for emitting radiation in a shape of a fan beam to the subject, a radiation detecting device for detecting the radiation that has passed through the subject to obtain detection data with respect to a tomographic plane of the subject. The radiation emitting device and the radiation detecting device determines a scanning area constituting a data collection region in a radiation plane of the fan beam.     • A flying-spot pencil beam generating unit is arranged under a conveyor. A backscatter detector is located between an upper belt and a lower belt of the conveyor. Thus, this apparatus is set up to be perpendicular. A pencil beam is irradiated upward and scans an object on the belt of the conveyor by the flying-spot pencil beam generating unit, as the conveyor carries the object to be inspected. The backscatter detector gathers Compton scatter X-rays transmitted through the upper belt, as they reflect back from the object. A CPU produces a backscatter image based on the detection signal output from the backscatter detector. The backscatter image is shown on a display unit to enable detection of low-Z materials, such as plastic explosives and narcotics. In addition to the backscatter imaging, the unit may retain use of a transmitted image to thus reliably detect metal-based weapons such as guns.

    • In an image forming unit or an image forming apparatus, there is an image carrying body, then, a cleaning member is furnished along the image carrying body to remove developer remaining on the surface of the image carrying body after transferring; a first conveying member conveys the developer removed by the cleaning member to a conveying section formed on one end of the image forming unit, as waste developer; and a second conveying member conveys the waste developer conveyed from the conveying section to a waste developer collecting section.
