摘要： A backlight unit has a light source, a reflection sheet, a light guide plate, an air space, and a diffuser, wherein the reflection sheet, the light guide plate, the air space, and the diffuser are overlaid in this order. The light source is configured to arrange individual light sources having different spectra or different light emission quantities near an incident plane of the light guide plate, and on a plane facing the reflection sheet of the light guide plate, scatter dots are disposed which take light propagating through the light guide plate out of the reflection sheet side. The backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device including the same have excellent display quality.

摘要： A projector includes a first housing, a second housing, and a sound insulating member. The first housing is provided with first heat-generating elements used for generating an image, first fans producing cooling airflows towards each one of the first heat-generating elements, and vents via which the cooling airflows heated by the first heat-generating elements are discharged. The second housing encloses the first housing, and has second fans discharging the cooling airflows outside the projector. The sound insulating member is provided on a path between the vents and the second fans so as to insulate sound produced by the first fans. The projector may be provided with a dust-proof member for the projecting lens.

摘要： A projection display device comprising three projection lenses arranged in a row in a side by side relationship and having respective optical axes extending toward a screen, and three liquid crystal display panels forming images of red, green and blue color lights, the liquid crystal display panels and the projection lenses being arranged to form sets individually. A mirror is arranged between the display element and the projection lens of at least one of the sets. Accordingly, one of the display elements is arranged so as to face in a first direction and the adjacent display element so as to face in a second direction. It is thus possible to reduce the distance between the adjacent projection lenses even if the size of the liquid crystal display panels is enlarged.

The liquid crystal display includes a rear frame having an upstanding portion formed by bending an end of a longer side thereof and a heat sink which is in thermal contact with the rear frame. Thus, heat generated at LEDs can be efficiently radiated. The liquid crystal display also includes a liquid crystal display panel driving circuit which is divided into a data substrate and a control substrate. The liquid crystal display can be provided in a compact structure having a thin picture frame by disposing the data substrate on a side surface of the liquid crystal display and disposing the control substrate on the side of the heat sink.
