摘要： A document feeder includes: a document detecting device arranged on the top of the copier body, for detecting a document inserted from the outside; a feed roller arranged adjacent to the document detecting device, on the top of the copier body, for feeding an inserted document into a space between the original table and the original cover, in response to the detection of a document by the document detecting device; and an original cover lifting device arranged on the top of the copier body, for lifting the original cover to create a gap between the original table and the original cover, in response to the detection of a document by the document detecting device. Alternatively, the feed roller further has a rotary cam on its shaft, so that the cam rotates to lift the original cover up as the feed roller rotates in the document feeding direction. Then, after the document is fed in place, the feed roller is reversely rotated in a constant time, whereby the document cover is sunk to press the document onto the original table.

摘要： The control circuit includes: a series circuit of a first triac and a reactor; and a second triac in parallel with this series circuit so as to perform control of activation of a fixing heater. Since the fixing heater has a low resistance when the power switch is first turned on, the first triac is operated to perform phase angle control of current flow, and when the phase angle has become approximately equal to 180.degree., the first triac is stopped, at the same time the second triac starts to be operated. The switching from the first triac to the second triac is made quickly so that it is possible to reduce the power consumption from the reactor.

摘要： In the correction of the quantity of light of a light source used in an image reader which irradiates an original document with the light source, receives the reflected light by a CCD and reads the original document image, at the time of a document moving mode in which the document moves, correction of the quantity of irradiation light of the light source is performed by reading a first standard white board which extends over the whole area in the main scanning direction, prior to the initiation of readout of the moving document, and upon initiation of readout of the moving document, a second standard white board arranged outside the document passing area is read by using the same light source, with the read operation of the moving document, and correction of the quantity of irradiation light of the light source is performed based on the reflected light from the second white board.

摘要： A CPU includes a bus interface, a control unit, an instruction cache, a data cache, a secondary cache, an instruction decoder, an arithmetic unit, and registers. When operations can be performed only with the cache, the CPU inhibits access to external memory and stops power supply to the external memory. With this arrangement, by performing operations in the CPU without using the external memory, it is possible to realize a speedy processing and to stop power supply to the external memory, thus allowing for reduction in power consumption.

摘要： An automatic document feeder for a copier has the position for reading the image of an original fed by the automatic document feeder disposed near the rear edge of the original table of the copier. In this automatic document feeder, essential parts such as a pickup roller, etc., for feeding originals to the reading position of the original table are arranged concentratedly on the rear side of the copier. Therefore, the center of gravity of the automatic document feeder resides near the rear side of the copier. This automatic document feeder is hinged at the rear side of the copier so as to cover the top surface of the original table in an openable and closable manner. Accordingly, the automatic document feeder is opened and closed with respect to the top of the copier, at a pivot which resides on the rear side near the center of gravity thereof.

摘要： A fuel cell assembly has a housing defining an electricity generation/combustion chamber, and electricity generation/combustion means disposed within the housing. A fuel gas and an oxygen-containing gas are supplied to the electricity generation/combustion means, and a combustion gas formed within the electricity generation/combustion chamber is discharged from the electricity generation/combustion chamber. A heat exchanger having a first channel and a second channel is disposed on at least one surface of the housing, the combustion gas is discharged from the interior of the electricity generation/combustion chamber through the first channel of the heat exchanger, and one of the oxygen-containing gas and the fuel gas is supplied to the electricity generation/combustion means through the second channel of the heat exchanger. A plurality of electricity generation units are arranged in parallel within the housing, and each of the electricity generation units includes a cell stack constituting the electricity generation/combustion means.
