摘要： A control device including: a reception section for receiving a control signal from a transmission section which transmits, based on activation of N sensing portions (where N is an integer equal to or greater than two) placed in a predetermined arrangement, a control signal for giving an instruction to an apparatus to be controlled; and a control section standing by to receive a control signal transmitted from the transmission section, the control section assigning, respectively to the N or less control signals, instructions to be executed when the control signals are received, and generating a signal for drawing on a display device an operation menu which includes N image regions placed in an arrangement corresponding to the N sensing portions of the transmission section, each image region representing an instruction assigned to a control signal which is transmitted when the corresponding sensing portion is pressed, such that the N instructions to be respectively assigned to the control signals are determined based on an operation state of the apparatus to be controlled in the standby state and the operation menu generated in an immediately previous standby state.

摘要： A control device includes a control section standing by to receive a control signal transmitted from a transmission section. The control section assigns, respectively to N or less control signals, instructions to be executed when the control signals are received, and generates a signal for drawing on a display device an operation menu which includes N image regions placed in an arrangement corresponding to the N sensing portions of the transmission section. Each image region represents an instruction assigned to a control signal which is transmitted when the corresponding sensing portion is pressed, such that the N instructions to be respectively assigned to the control signals are determined based on an operation state of an apparatus to be controlled in the standby state and the operation menu generated in an immediately previous standby state.

The data recording apparatus has a receiver unit that receives a stream of encoded digital data; an analyzer that detects change in an attribute of the received stream and that outputs the detection information; a controller that generates management information containing the detection information output by the analyzer and time information indicating detection time of the change as a first entry point; a drive that records the management information and the received stream to a data storage medium; and an input unit that defines a second entry point. This second entry point is set relative to the playback path of the stream and is used to access and read from a particular point in the stream. The controller further generates the management information containing the first entry point and the second entry point separately identified.

When writing a VOB onto a DVD, the recording apparatus refers to TM_ZONE recorded on the DVD, and judges whether the time zone which the timer is based on matches the time zone that the TM_ZONE specifies. If the two time zones do not match, the recording apparatus operates as follows. First, the recording apparatus obtains VOB_REC_TM that indicates the recording date/time of the VOB based on TM_ZONE. The recording apparatus then writes the VOB onto the DVD together with VOBI that is information of the VOB and contains (a) the obtained VOB_REC_TM; (b) LOCAL_TZ_TY indicating that the two time zones do not match and (c) LOCAL_TZ specifying the time zone which the timer is based on.

摘要： In an information recording medium, wherein data are reproduced in a sector unit, a file area for recording the file systems of a plurality of operating systems and a discrimination area for recording the position data on the file systems in the file area are provided. Then, the same data recorded in the recording medium can be managed by the operating systems of different file management systems. In a recording apparatus for reproducing data from the information recording medium, the position data are reproduced from the discrimination area and the data recorded in the information recording medium can be read by converting the position data to an actual sector address in the information recording medium. Thus, a file can by reproduced from the recording medium with either of the operating systems.
