摘要： Embodiments of the present invention provide a data storage system that reduces a load of a data bus for connecting a HOST system with the data storage system. The data storage system includes a disk manager connected to the HOST system by a SCSI BUS, connected to a disk control unit by an RS PORT and connected to disk enclosures and a fan unit by a Serial BUS. The disk manager monitors operation of the disk control unit and disk enclosures and transmits results to the HOST system. In addition, control commands of the HOST system to the disk enclosures are executed via the disk manager.

摘要： A data storage managing system and method in which a HOST system obtains operation information of a storage device from a system connected to a network without the need for a specific device driver are disclosed. When disks shared between systems connected to the network are managed by a disk manager, monitoring and control information for the shared disks may be accessed by a file access command of the operating system on the HOST system. An operation information storage device is formed in a file format which can be accessed by a file access command of the operating system on the HOST system and the HOST system reads the operation information of the storage devices stored in the operation information file according to the file access command. The information to control the operation of the storage devices is written in the operation information file according to the file access command. The disk manager controls the operation of the storage devices according to the operation information of the operation information file.

摘要： The present invention provides a plate brick having a low amount of generation of smoke and a gas with a pungent odor during use, and exhibiting high durability. A plate brick of the present invention is obtained by: adding an organic binder to a refractory raw material mixture containing 0.5 to 20 mass % of aluminum and/or aluminum alloy; kneading the mixture with the organic binder; forming the kneaded mixture into a shaped body; and subjecting the shaped body to a heat treatment at a temperature of 400 to 1000° C., wherein the plate brick is obtained without being impregnated with a carbon-containing liquid material comprising tar or pitch, after the heat treatment. The plate brick has a compressive strength of 180 MPa or more, and a weight-increasing rate of 1% or less as measured in a hydration test using an autoclave.

摘要： Disclosed is a dental-caries detecting solution prepared by dissolving a dye capable of staining a carious region of a tooth to provide enhanced visibility of the carious region, in a water-miscible organic solvent, which is capable of distinctively staining only a first decalcified layer, or an outer layer of a softened dentine, to be removed, absolutely without staining a second layer, or an inner layer of the softened dentine, which should not be removed. In the dental-caries detecting solution, the water-miscible organic solvent contains a compound having a carbon number of 11 or more and including one or more hydroxyl groups. The water-miscible organic solvent is adjusted such that the dental-caries detecting solution has a viscosity of 300 to 1500 Cp.

The surface layer is formed from a composition comprising: (A) a partially cross-linked thermoplastic elastomer comprising a polypropylene resin and an &agr;-olefin copolymer rubber, and (B) a polybutylene-1 resin. The base layer is formed of a polypropylene resin or a blend of polypropylene resin and an organic filler. The interior trim material is lightweight, is easily recycled, and generates no hazardous gas when incinerated.
