    • A piezoelectric element unit and sheet metal mount therefor has a window opening for readily mounting the unit therein without the necessity for using tools and for stably holding it despite repetitive beating by the hammer of the actuation mechanism. The unit is formed as a cylinder with a pair of opposite grooves axially extending in or on the circumferential surface of the unit so as to engage the side edges of said window. When the grooves are cut directly in the circumferential wall of the unit, a second window formed to be interconnected with the aforementioned window for mounting the actuation mechanism is designed to have a width longer than the diameter of the unit so that the unit is first located in the second window and then slid into the first window. When the grooves are formed by two rows of upper and lower axial protrusions therebetween, notches are formed at the opposite edges of the window so that either of the upper and lower protrusions may clear the notches in order that the unit may be slid into its final position.

    • A drive apparatus of a roof structure for a vehicle comprises a drive gear rotatably supported by a casing of the apparatus; a first gear for transmitting the power from the drive gear to a drive section for opening and closing a lid disposed in the roof structure; a rotary member having a control section for switching a switch for detecting the position of the lid; and a second gear for transmitting the power from the drive gear to the rotary member. The drive apparatus has a control device for controlling a drive motor for driving the roof structure. The control device comprises a drive motor for slidably and tiltably driving the lid disposed in a roof opening by the normal and reverse rotations of the motor; a tilting control circuit having first and second tilting contacts disposed in a first switch, and tilting the lid by driving the drive motor in the normal and reverse directions by switching the first and second tilting contacts when the first switch is operated; a sliding control circuit having first and second sliding contacts disposed in a second switch, and sliding the lid by driving the drive motor in the normal and reverse directions by switching the first and second sliding contacts when the second switch is operated; and a switch device for electrically connecting and disconnecting the tilting control circuit and the sliding control circuit by a cam rotated by the drive motor in the normal and reverse directions.

    • A piezoelectric ignition device of the type having a base mount formed with a window in which a piezoelectric element is fixedly mounted and a cylindrical hammer is axially movable and urged by a coiled spring toward the piezoelectric element. The entire assembly is adapted to be readily mounted in an automatic ignition to gas range etc. of a type having axle fixed with knob for operating gas valve. The base mount has a hole for snugly receiving said axle. An arm member is mounted with a key on the axle in such a way that when the knob is manually actuated for opening the gas valve, the arm rotates to move the hammer to a retracted position against the force of the spring and then disengages it for a rapid return for ignition. When actuating the knob for closing valve, the arm slides around circumferential surface of a cylinder against another spring so as to clear the cylinder and to return to its initial position.
