摘要： In a method and an apparatus for navigating through subtitles of an Audio Video data stream an address information of one or more played back data units is stored together with the subtitle information of said played back data units during play back of said data units. One or more of said stored subtitle information can be displayed. Following the selection of one of said displayed subtitle information the stored address information of the data unit corresponding to the selected subtitle information is retrieved and the corresponding data unit is accessed using said retrieved address information. Playing back the accessed data unit conveniently allows to watch and listen to a scene including subtitles again, e.g. by a few clicks on the remote control.

摘要： The invention relates to a method of encoding and decoding video images with spatial scalability. The inventive method comprises the following steps consisting in: encoding (5) a low-resolution image, by performing a calculation of a local or reconstructed decoded image, in order to supply an encoded low-resolution image; oversampling (6) the reconstructed image in order to supply a prediction image; and encoding (7) a higher resolution image, comprising a difference calculation with the prediction image in order to supply residues. The invention is characterised in that the method also comprises a step consisting in selecting or calculating filter coefficients to be used for oversampling and a subsequent step consisting in encoding said coefficients such that they can be transmitted to the decoder with the other encoded data. The invention is suitable for hierarchical encoding with spatial scalability.

摘要： A method is provided in order to determine connection topology of a home network. The main idea of the present invention is to send out a topology determination message on each link of the network, wherein the topology determination message is constituted of two consecutive packets, first one being a broadcast packet with a predetermined payload that identifies it as a topology determination packet, and second one being a unicast packet with the same content and a non-existent destination MAC address. If a node receives both the broadcast and unicast packet from a sending node, the sending node is determined to be on the same physical link with said receiving node and the MAC address of the sending node is added into a local link nodes list of said receiving node, otherwise if said receiving node receives only the broadcast packet from the sending node, the send node is determined not to be on the same physical link with said receiving node.
