    • A manually guided implement having a motor unit and a tool unit driven by the motor unit. The motor unit includes an internal combustion engine having a carburetor, and a butterfly valve. A throttle acts upon the butterfly valve via a transfer mechanism. A speed regulator is provided for the internal combustion engine. The transfer mechanism is divided into two transfer portions. The speed regulator is a mechanical speed regulator and is disposed between two transfer portions such that the throttle, via the first transfer portion associated therewith, as well as the speed regulator together act upon the second transfer portion, which is associated with the butterfly valve, whereby as its speed increases, the speed regulator effects a closing of the butterfly valve.

    • A walk-behind sweeper has at least one sweeping roller and an air-cooled drive motor having a drive shaft and driving in rotation the at least one sweeping roller. At least one fan wheel conveys cooling air to the drive motor wherein the at least one fan wheel is driven by the drive shaft. A dirt collecting chamber is provided into which swept-up material that is swept up by the at least one sweeping roller is conveyed. The at least one fan wheel has an intake side connected by a flow connection to a working area of the sweeper so that at least a portion of the cooling air stream for the drive motor is taken in from the working area of the sweeper.

    • A two-cycle engine is provided and includes a cylinder in which is formed a combustion chamber delimited by a reciprocating piston that via a connecting rod drives a crankshaft rotatably mounted in a crankcase that, in predetermined positions of the piston, communicates with the combustion chamber via transfer channels. The cylinder has an outlet from the combustion chamber. An intake duct leads into the crankcase for a supply of fuel, and an air duct supplies substantially fuel-free air. In the vicinity of the piston the air duct is divided into two branches that open out at air openings of a connecting flange formed on the cylinder. A cover is disposed on the connecting flange and extends over the air openings. A flow divider on the connecting flange projects beyond a plane thereof and into the cover. The flow divider divides an air flow in the air duct to the two branches.
