    • An apparatus for conveying solids from a lower to a higher elevation, such as metal cuttings from machine coolants, including a horizontal auger rotatably mounted in the semi-circular bottom of an open top hopper, one end of the hopper being open, an inclined auger rotatably mounted in a semi-circular bottomed inclined housing, the lower end of the housing communicating with the open end of the hopper, and the lower end of the inclined auger being below the hopper, the housing having a discharge chute at the upper end, liquids and solids inter-mixed being deposited into the opened top of the hopper to permit the liquids to overflow the hopper while the rotating horizontal auger moves solids onto the inclined auger which moves the solids upwardly within the housing, allowing the liquid to be drained therefrom and back into the hopper, the solids being discharged out the outlet chute and the liquids permitted to be returned for reuse or disposal.

    • An apparatus for separating solids, such as metal cuttings, from liquids, such as machine coolant, the apparatus having an upwardly inclined elongated housing which in cross-section is U-shaped with a semi-circular bottom and parallel sides, the housing being opened at the top and covered throughout its length by a removable lid, a helix rotated in the housing and extending from the lower end to the upper end, the housing having a solids discharge chute near the upper end, a gear motor mounted on the upper end of the housing for rotation of the helix and having at the lower end an upwardly extending fluid inlet chamber, the open top serving as an inlet by which solids containing liquids is conducted into the apparatus and having an upwardly extending overflow chamber connected with the lower portion of the housing, the walls of the overflow chamber being of less height than the inlet chamber, the inlet chamber, the overflow chamber and the lower portion of the housing together forming a quiescent zone in which solid particles can settle into the lower portion of the housing where they are picked up by the rotating helix and carried upwardly to the discharge chute, the liquid flowing out of the overflow chamber being collected for recirculation. To augment the separation of paramagnetic particles, permanent magnets may be secured to the bottom of the lower portion of the housing.

    • A permanently installed wall cavity and filtration system provides molded base dry block members that install along the base of a wall between the floor and a bottom edge of drywall, gypsum board or other conventional interior wall construction material. The base block members have connection ports at opposite ends that communicate with an interior airflow channel on an inner facing side of the block members. The air flow channel communicates with the wall interior. A forced flow of dry air is directed through one of the ports, thereby allowing the forced dry air to circulate into the interior wall cavities in order to remove moisture and dampness. The damp, contaminated air can also be pulled out through any one of the connection ports by vacuum force, and filtered to avoid contamination of the surrounding interior living environment.

    • Apparatus for closing and feeding filled bags to conveyor mechanisms of bag tying mechanisms includes a frame and guide rails which support and guide a mounting head for reciprocatory movements in the direction of movement of the conveying mechanism. Lever arms on the mounting head clamp and close the upper portion of the filled bag. First and second pressure operated rams are operatively mounted to impart reciprocatory movements to the mounting head and clamping movements to the lever arms respectively. A reversing valve is connected to a source of fluid under pressure and to the first and second pressure operated rams for controlling the reciprocatory movements imparted to the mounting head by the first pressure operated ram and the movement imparted to the lever arms by the second pressure operated ram in a predetermined sequence.
