    • A procedure call mechanism implemented by hardware instructions and a hardware recognizable mechanism known as a stack. A procedure call is utilized by users who have written their programs in a modular way to pass from one program module to another, it is used by user programs to avail themselves of operating system services, and it is used by the operating system itself to achieve a responsive modular structure. The stack is a mechanism permitting the above to be done. A stack is a segment of memory and comprises a number of contiguous portions, known as stack-frames, which are accessed in last in, first out LIFO fashion. Each procedure call creates a stack frame, with subsequent procedure calls creating new stack frames; each exit deletes stack frames thus "popping up" a previous stack-frame. Thus a history of calls is correctly maintained in order to allow a return.

    • A method for establishing a clam bed includes raising clam larvae in a captive environment in which they are provided with adequate food and habitat requirements, and kept isolated from predation by natural predators. The clam larvae are maintained in this environment during the first larval stage, referred to as the trochophore stage of development, when the larvae are particularly vulnerable to mortality. During the next stage of development, the larvae are called veligers. The developing larval clams are released, preferably in large numbers (saturation spawning) at any time during the veliger stage of development, i.e., the generic stage following the trochophore larval stage and which includes the sub-stages of straight-hinge veliger, umbonate veliger, and pediveliger. Preferably, the entire process prior to release in accordance with the invention is carried out in a closed system, to significantly reduce possible exposure to contaminants and/or harmful predator larvae/parasites, in addition to larger animal predators. A mobile floating hatchery/nursery facilitates implementation of the method by providing the captive environment, and allowing transfer of the veliger clams to a seeding site containing the prospective clam bed.

    • The pendulum bow sight is a sight apparatus for an archery bow that provides a luminescent sighting element disposed without the use of supporting pins in a field of view of an optic lens without obstructing the field of view used for sighting a target. The sight apparatus provides unobstructed viewing through a pendulum sight regardless of a bow elevation angle. The pendulum sight has a pivoting lens assembly, which is suspended by a supporting structure capable of being mounted to e.g., the riser of a bow. The bow sight lens assembly is freely rotatable about a pivot axis disposed across a region encompassed by the supporting structure. The pendulum bow sight provides independent horizontal and vertical adjustments of the sighting element for calibration that is good for up to thirty-five yards, and with any bow elevation angle.
