    • A bandwidth control method is adapted for use in a network device having a system clock. The network device has a register for storing a transmittable data amount to control bandwidth. The method includes: calculating a number of elapsed periods of the system clock so as to change a counting value every predetermined time interval, the counting value being cyclic within a specific range; adjusting the transmittable data amount in the register by a first unit amount when the counting value reaches a first count value; and adjusting the transmittable data amount in the register by a second unit amount after adjusting the transmittable data amount by the first unit amount and elapse of the predetermined time interval and when the counting value corresponds to a second count value. The first count value is different from the second count value, and the first unit amount is different from the second unit amount.

    • A method for multicast packet forwarding in a switch. The switch includes a look-up table and a plurality of ports. The switch transfers a multicast packet according to the look-up table. The method includes receiving the multicast packet from a port; if the multicast packet conforms to a specific transmission protocol then detecting a destination address information in the multicast packet; and checking whether the destination address information belongs to a network address set, wherein if the destination address information belongs to the network set the port is determined to be coupled to a multicast packet processing device and a corresponding relationship between the port and the multicast packet processing device is stored into the look-up table.

    • The present invention relates to an ear-carrying heart beat detection device, which includes a device body, an attaching structure, an ear clip, an extension assembly, a control circuit and a wrist watch unit. The attaching structure is coupled to the device body. The ear clip includes a blood flowrate sensor to detect variation of blood flowrate through a user's earlobe. The extension assembly adjusts the relative distance of the ear clip with respect to the device body. The control circuit is arranged inside the device body and the control circuit transmits a heart beat signal to a wrist watch unit in a wireless manner to allow the user to inspect the condition of heart beat of his or her body and to adjust the time period and style of exercise according to the heart beat information.

    • A fan system and a stopping method for the fan system are provided. The fan system is electrically connected to a power supply and receives the power therefrom. The fan system includes an energy storage apparatus, a motor and a start-up device. The energy storage apparatus receives and stores the power. The motor is electrically connected to the energy storage apparatus and receives the power. The driver is coupled between the energy storage apparatus and the motor to form a control path and generates a driving signal to the motor according to received power. The start-up device is coupled between the energy storage apparatus and the motor to form a power path therewith. When no power is provided to the fan system, the energy storage apparatus releases the stored power and the start-up device generates a start-up signal to the motor in accordance with the released power so as to form a short-circuit loop in the motor to stop the motor.
