    • This patent document discusses assemblies and methods for transferring a subject from a first surface to a second surface. In varying examples, an assembly includes a first roller and a second roller. An assembly frame rotatably supports the rollers and, in some examples, longitudinally extends from a frame first end to a frame second end. A belt is coupled to the first and second rollers in such a matter that the assembly frame is positioned, at least in part, between the rollers and surrounded by the belt. A motor, powered by a power source, is coupled to the belt via the first or second roller. In one such example, the motor is coupled with a portion of a first roller inner surface. In another example, an outer surface of one or both of the rollers include belt driving projections matable with projection receiving portions disposed on a belt underside surface.

    • The present invention is a control apparatus for an implement transmission. The transmission is operably coupled to a plurality of driven mechanisms for providing a driving power from a prime mover to the plurality of driven mechanisms. A shift assembly has a first and a second actuator apparatus. The first actuator apparatus is operably coupled to the transmission for selectively controlling the transmission of a driving power to at least a first driven mechanism, and the second actuator apparatus is operably coupled to the transmission for selectively controlling the transmission of a driving power to at least a second driven mechanism. The second actuator apparatus has a biasing apparatus for exerting a variable, selective bias on the transmission. A clutch for selectively engaging and disengaging a prime mover and the transmission has a rotatable stop member and an idler-stop assembly. The idler-stop assembly is shiftable between an engaged disposition and a disengaged disposition wherein the clutch is engaged and disengaged. The idler-stop assembly has a stop engaging member, the stop engaging member intersecting a path of rotation of the stop member to engage the stop member when in the disengaged disposition, said stop engaging member thereby positively disengaging the prime mover from the transmission. The clutch further includes an emergency stop assembly for remotely disengaging the driven sheave assembly.

    • A bone fixation device for securing adjacent and separated bone portions, such as at a joint or at a relatively clean, unsplintered break, comprises a pair of telescoping members which are pinned into the respective bone portions, and have internal actuating members to permit the telescoping parts to be moved together to bring the two bone portions to bear against one another at a desired level of pressure. After the telescoping members have been adjusted the members are permanently left in place to fix and hold the joint or break in a predetermined relationship. The adjusting members also remain in place as pins within the bone, which are accessible through incisions in the skin if later adjustment is necessary. The entire device is embedded, and is not external. The process of inserting is relatively simple to follow and rigidly fixes a joint or break between two abutting bone portions without having external members.
