摘要： An impulse activated switch having a controlled time-delayed self-restoration from its complementary state to its initial state is described. Upon illumination, a photodiode array connected to the gate and source electrodes of a field effect transistor produces a voltage which changes the current conduction state of the field effect transistor to its complementary state and charges a capacitance. The capacitance forms part of an RC timing network which controls the time required for self-restoration. The switch may be normally on or off and unilateral or bilateral.

The images may be compressed for storage or transmission. Compressed images can be transmitted much more quickly and take up much less space than uncompressed images. Compressed images can be expanded for, among other things, viewing. The compressor/expander and input/output devices reside on a bus structure in such a manner that digital image data can be selectively passed between the compressor/expander and the various input/output devices.

摘要： Improved billing accuracy in session-based communications is provided by separating session (or connection) billing from session processing. If two sessions (440, 442) on the same serving node are bridged, so the true stop time of the prior session (440) is not known, the stop time of the prior session is defined as a function of the last activity during (TALS1) that session. To accomplish this, the serving node detects and stores the time of last activity and the time of initiation for each connection and determines the billing time accordingly, regardless of the state of the inactivity timer (430) or whether sessions were bridged by the serving node.
