    • A memory card connector is provided for receiving a memory card having a plurality of conductive contacts. The connector includes an insulative housing that mounts a plurality of conductive terminals. A cover has receptacle means for receiving the memory card. The cover is pivotally mounted on the housing for pivotal movement between an open position to allow the memory card to be inserted into the receptacle means and a closed position bringing the contacts of the memory card into engagement with the terminals on the housing. A generally flat first stop surface (66b) is formed on the housing. A restraining member on the cover defines a generally flat second stop surface (56) which comes into surface contact with the generally flat first stop surface on the housing when the cover is opened to prevent the cover from being opened beyond a predetermined amount. With the abutting first and second stop surfaces being flat, stress concentrations are prevented to prevent deformation or damage to the components.

    • Disclosed is a connector assembly 1 for receiving card medium 60 having ca rd contacts 61 on a front side thereof. The connector assembly comprises a head er 20 having terminals 24 for making electrical connections with the card contacts of the card medium and an ejector unit 40 for ejecting the card from the header. Th e ejector unit 40 comprises a spring-biased actuator 41 responsive to insertion of the card into the header for applying an ejecting force to the card, at least one rotary piece 47 having notches 48 and contours 49 on opposite ends, the rotary piece 47 bein g rotatably fixed to the actuator 41; and a latching mechanism comprising stationary cam projections 50 and 51 confronting each other to allow the rotary piece 4 7 to move from one to the other cam projection, such that each cam projection follows the notches 48 and contours of one end of the rotary piece, thereby causing the rotary piece to turn and lock the actuator when one of the cam projections catches one end of the rotary piece.

    • Disclosed is an improved PGA package socket comprising a generally planar base housing having a plurality of terminals arranged in the form of grid array, and a generally planar slide plate having a corrresponding plurality of through holes arranged in the same form of grid array as the generally planar base housing. The slide plate is placed on the generally planar base housing, and the generally planar base housing has a generally cylindrical cam member fitted on a pivot axle, which passes through the slide plate to stand upright on the front end of the base housing whereby clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of the cam member about is privot axle makes the slide plate move back and forth between an open position and a closed position. The generally planar base housing has a traversal section formed in the vicinity of the pivot axle, thereby allowing the front end of the slide plate to be positioned under the traversal section while moving between the opening position and the locking position, thereby preventing the slide plate from coming up from the base housing.
