    • The adhesive connection (1) for metal flat tube ends, which are part of a soldered heat exchanger network, in corresponding openings of a collection tank made of plastic or metal, where each opening has an annular space (6) provided around the flat tube ends, in which a silicone adhesive (SK) is present, comprises a mounting plate (10), which delimits the annular space. The tensile strength of the silicone adhesive is 4.0-6.0 MPa. The annular space is filled up to 60-95% of its total volume with the silicone adhesive, which is an addition-curing type and has a low storage modulus. The adhesive connection (1) for metal flat tube ends, which are part of a soldered heat exchanger network, in corresponding openings of a collection tank made of plastic or metal, where each opening has an annular space (6) provided around the flat tube ends, in which a silicone adhesive (SK) is present, comprises a mounting plate (10), which delimits the annular space. The tensile strength of the silicone adhesive is 4.0-6.0 MPa. The annular space is filled up to 60-95% of its total volume with the silicone adhesive, which is an addition-curing type and has a low storage modulus. The height (h) of the annular space filled with the silicone adhesive is 5-15 mm and the width (b) of the annular space is 0.5-3 mm. The silicone adhesive consists of one or two components. The elongation of the silicone adhesive is 150%. The relative low storage modulus of the silicone adhesive is 0.1-3 MPa. The silicone adhesive comprises a catalyst made of platinum metal and/or its compounds. The dynamic viscosity of the non-hardened silicone adhesive is 20000-60000 cP. The annular space has an increased/decreased width over the height filled with the silicone adhesive. The part of the annular space that is not filled with the silicone adhesive is pointedly arranged to the collection tank. The mounting plate is formed as thin film with an upright and rotating edge (11) of the height. The edge of the mounting plate engages in a corresponding slot of the collection tank and the mounting plate lies on ribs (30) of the soldered heat exchange network with its lower side or is arranged in a short distance to the ribs. The collection tank is formed circular to oval in its cross-section to improve its pressure stability. An independent claim is included for a method for producing an adhesive connection for metal flat tube ends in corresponding openings of a collection tank of a heat exchanger.

    • METHOD OF MAKING AN ABSORBENT PAPER-CONTAINING GRANULATE A method of making an absorbent granulate of paper, with or without additives, includes mechanically comminuting paper into irregular and/or strip-shaped fragments, crumpling and interlacing the fragments with attendant development of internal spaces (cavities) in the interlaced and crumpled fragments, rough pressing the interlaced and crumpled fragments into prepressed formations (e.g., into tubes having a diameter of up to or even in excess of 10 mm), and converting the prepressed formations into particles, particularly into granules or pellets. The crumpling and interlacing step can include agitating the fragments in one or more streams of a gaseous fluid and/or kneading the fragments. The additives can be admixed during at least one of the comminuting, crumpling and interlacing, rough pressing and converting steps and can include substances which reduce the specific weight of granules, substances which alter the magnetic and/or electrostatic properties of the mixture of fragments and additives, aromatic substances, deodorants, disinfectants or materials which influence the wettability of paper. Up to 20 percent by weight of water can be added to paper in the course of at least one of the comminuting, crumpling and interlacing, rough pressing and converting steps. The granulate can be used as litter or as an oil binding material.
