    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coolant system accompanied with the storage of heat energy and a method of storing the heat energy by operating the system.
      SOLUTION: In order to remove the heat energy from an engine (32) and transfer the heat energy to coolant, the coolant system (20) includes a heat exchange circuit having heat exchange relation with the engine (32) and an insulated tank (38) leading to the heat exchange circuit between which fluid communication is realized. The system (20) also includes a control and associated conduits and valves: which make the coolant pass through the heat exchange circuit and the insulated tank (38) in order to introduce a first amount of the coolant into the insulated tank (38) in a first operating state; which feed an additional amount of coolant into the insulated tank (38) from the heat exchange circuit in order to introduce a second amount of coolant larger than the first amount into the insulated tank (38) in a second operating state; and which feed the additional amount of coolant into the heat exchange circuit from the insulated tank (38) in a third operating state. The method of storing the heat energy by operating the system (20) is also provided.
