摘要： Prior art removal of SO2 from off-gases by passing mixt. into an absorbent slurry contg. alkali earth cpd. is now modified by using a slurry contg. additionally an alkali metal sulphate. Alkali earth cpd. is CaCO3, Ca(OH)2, MgCO3, Mg(OH)2 or dolomite, and sulphate is Na2SO4, NaHSO4, K2SO4, or KHSO4 which can be prepd. in situ by adding NaOH or KOH to the absorbing slurry. Opt. additives are MnCl2 MnSO4, Mn(NO3)2, FeCl3, Fe2(SO4)2, Fe(NO3)3 and process can be multistage with stage 1 having pH is not >4.5 and oxidizing and stage 2 with pH >4.5. Efficiency of SO2 removal is increased by alkali metal sulphate and a lower conc. of alkali earth cpd. can be used. Effective oxidn. of SO2 to S(VI) in presence of Fe(III) or Mn(II) salts gives a gypsum byprod. of high purity.

摘要： In the removal of sulphur oxides, esp. SO2, from waste gas with the simultaneous winning of high purity gypsum, the gas is treated with an absorbent suspension of a calcium cpd. contg. an alkali metal sulphate, after which sulphuric acid is added to the suspension. The Ca cpd. is pref. CaCO3 Ca(OH)2 or dolomite, whereas the alkali metal sulphate is pref. Na - or K (b) sulphate. The alkali metal sulphate may also be obtd. via NaOH, KOH, Na2SO3, or K2SO3 and an MnII or FeIII salt is pref. added to the suspension, e.g. MnCl2, or FeCl3. The suspension is pref. circulated continuously through a scrubbing tower. Economic treatment of waste combustion gas is obtd. where the prod. has a commercial value.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the rate of removal of SO2 and to improve the purity of byproduct gypsum by containing sodium sulfate in Ca compound slurry at the time of separating and removing the SO2 in waste gas as gypsum by the Ca compound slurry. CONSTITUTION:The waste gas of a boiler contg. SO2 is fed to an absorbtion and reaction vessel A and a main absorption tower B. Absorbent slurry consisting of CaCO3 slurry of about 5% solid concn. added with Na2SO4 corresponding to about 2.5% of the slurry is prepd. in a circulating absorbent slurry preparing tank 3, and this slurry is fed to a circulating liquid storage tank D. The slurry enters the tower B, where it is allowed to contact with the waste gas and absorbs the SO2 contained therein, thereby removing the same as CaSO4. Part of the slurry enters a circulating liquid storage tank E, from which it is pumped 12 into the vessel A, where it contacts with the waste gas and absorbs the SO2 and O2 contained therein. This slurry is circulated to the tank E. In the tank E, it is oxidized to sulfuric acid radicals by the O2 in the air blown therein and the solids in the slurry are recovered as gypsum of high purity.
