    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration reducing device and a vibration reducing method capable of reliably reducing the vibration of an object to be damped.SOLUTION: The vibration reducing device includes elastic bodies 23-1 to 23-2, a dynamic mass 22 supported by the object to be damped via the elastic bodies 23-1 to 23-2, a control mass 24, the other elastic body 27 coupled to the dynamic mass 22 and the control mass 24, and an actuator 25 coupled to the dynamic mass 22 and the control mass 24. Such a vibration reducing device properly moves the control mass 24 with respect to the dynamic mass 22 by using the actuator 25, thereby can vary a frequency and an amplitude at which the dynamic mass 22 vibrates with respect to the object to be damped and the vibration of the object to be damped can be reliably reduced. Such a vibration reducing device can reduce the vibration of a prescribed frequency of the object to be damped even if the control mass 24 is fixed to the dynamic mass 22.
