    • PURPOSE:To enable skin pass rolling with a cold rolling mill by obtaining the elongation per unit length of a steel sheet while executing constant load control and tension control between stands and correcting the reference value for tension control between stands in accordance with deviation when deviation between the elongation per unit length and the reference value is larger than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:Each rolling stand of the cold tandem mill is composed of a pair of work rolls 1 and back-up rolls 2. The actual value from tensiometers 12 and the reference value are compared and, when the deviation is larger than the specified value, the tension control of the steel sheet 16 is executed by controlling the rotational speed of motors 11 for main machine with devices 13 for controlling tension between stands. In this way, at the time of executing the shape correction of the high tension steel sheet, skin pass rolling can be executed with the cold rolling mill, the shape correction of the high-tensile steel sheet is enabled and the cost of equipment of a skin pass mill is reduced because the cold rolling mill is used.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an accurate rotational speed by removing noises by eccentric components of looper rollers from the measured rotational speed of the looper rollers by having low pass filters for removing the eccentric components of the looper rollers from the rotational speed signals of the looper rollers detected with tachometers. SOLUTION: The rotational speeds of the looper rollers 2-1 to 2-6 provided between stands are measured with the looper roller tachometers 3-1 to 3-6 and rolling speeds of the stands are measured with rolling speedometers 8-1 to 8-6. From the rolling speeds of the stands on the upstream side of the loopers during rolling and sheet speeds estimated by estimated forward slips, the rotational speeds of the looper rollers are estimated. The obtained eccentric frequencies of the looper rollers are set to band-cut filters 9-1 to 9-6 as cutoff frequency. With the band cut filters, the eccentric components of the rotational speed signals of the looper rollers 2-1 to 2-6 are removed and outputted. In this way, the rotational speeds of the looper rollers 2-1 to 2-6 are measured with high accuracy.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency and yield by calculating the downtime due to welding work on the inlet side of a rolling mill, setting and controlling the optimum rolling speed. CONSTITUTION:The tip and the rear end of materials 8 for a metallic strip are connected by welding treatment, sent out to a looper 5 and the materials for the metallic strip which are stored in the looper are continuously fed to the cold rolling mill 6 and rolled. The material information of the materials 8 for the metallic strip are tracked before welding, the welding time required for welding treatment composed of plural treatments is calculated based on this information, the rolling speed of the cold rolling mill 6 is determined from the amount of storage in the looper 5 at that time and the welding time and the rolling speed of the rolling mill is controlled based on this rolling speed. Whenever each treatment of the welding treatment of the materials 8 for the metallic strip is completed, the rolling speed of the cold rolling mill is determined from the amount of storage in the looper 5 and the time required for the rest of the welding treatment at that time and the rolling speed of the rolling mill is controlled based on this rolling speed.
